I suffered nine months of high-level low-back and leg pain, coupled with many hospitalizations. I was evaluated by many spine specialists in Austin and one specialist from the Mayo Clinic. They all agreed I had a problem. Yet, they could not identify it.
During my last admission to St. David’s hospital, the Admissions doctor admitting me, said, “You’re here again? I recommend that I call a spine specialist I know to see you. He can help.”
On February 16, 2015, Dr. Stanley Kim came to my hospital room. With his polite introduction and his easy to understand analysis of my source of pain, I felt God had finally answered my prayers for help.
Dr. Kim, with his respectful and humble manner, explained the type of surgery needed to resolve my issue. He then made sincere eye to eye contact with me, and said simply, “I can cure you. “
It was as if an old friend had put his arm around my shoulder and said for me not to worry. “I’ll take care of this problem. That’s what friends do.”
Two days later, surgery was performed and my pain became nonexistent. My various follow-up visits and phone calls to Dr. Kim’s office were always welcomed by a qualified and attentive staff, who treated me as if I were a family member.

Dr. Stanley Kim is an amazing neurosurgeon and I trust him with my life. I had a rare spinal condition that had been causing numbness and pain for months. I would highly recommend Dr. Kim; he is professional, courteous, friendly and very informative. I didn't expect it during my appointment but he explained everything in detail and showed me my CT scan while explaining and answering all my questions. I was closely watched under his care for two years before we had to do the aneurysm brain surgery because they were too small to operate on in the beginning. Dr. Kim visited me in ICU each and every day and while I was recovering in the hospital. He will let you know your progress but will also ask you how you're feeling. Otherwise he will speak to one of your appointed family members. Once again I would recommend Dr Kim. I am still under his care because I am susceptible to having brain aneurysms. I also don't want to leave out his staff; they are friendly and they treat you like family.
